The Dobbins Creek Community has so many beautiful displays of holiday spirit! Over 103 homes in our community are festive and decorated.
We had 7 (+ 1 mini) wonderful members of our community stroll through our festive streets for several nights last week scoring each decorated home. The first night we gathered talked and laughed during a 2.5 hour, 1.9 mile stroll. We accomplished scoring homes on the East side and during the next few nights, our dedicated volunteers viewed and scored the homes on the West side. Each home was given a point score of 1 to 10 in five categories: Visual Balance, Difficulty, Variation of Cohesive Elements, Creativity and Theme, and Overall Presentation.
Thank you to our volunteers? Our group included Dave, Evelyn, Alysha, Jasmine, Bill, Sandi, Joni and Lynne. And thank you to our sponsors who donated gifts for this festive activity. (Changing Hands Bookstore, Baseline Flowers and Chick-Fil-A)
Congratulations to our top 6 homes! Look for the Contest Winner signs in their yards.
In First Place, with a score of 100%, 1314 E. Beth Dr. knocked it out of the park again (check out the Halloween Spirit Award post) with their synchronized, astonishment of lighting. What a joy it is to sit and listen to the radio station play songs and watch the light show. The owners spend many hours synchronizing each note of every song, to specific strands of their lighting!!!

Our second place holiday home with a score of 93% displayed a North Pole theme with music and animated reindeer. It's so tempting to give them a holiday hug.

3rd place, scoring 89% goes to this beautifully decorated home balanced with colorful lighting and many different visual elements. Welcome to the neighborhood!!!

FESTIVE MENTIONS:
There were too many beautiful homes to just select the top 3, so we included the next 3 top scoring homes!
In 4th Place, scoring 82%, this festive home on the west side, included lighting circling the entire home and the sweet lady co-answering the door was proud to point out that this community member decorated the whole thing by herself!

With a score of 81%, another West side home captured the spirit of the holidays with all sides beautifully lighted. Beautiful job!

And back to the East side for 6th place with a score of 75%

Among the vibrant decorations, there were some hidden gems. Here are some Holiday Miniature Mentionables: (and one not so miniature, but definitely a head turner!) If you have other gems you'd like posted, send them to LynneMoritz@gmail.com.
MOST FESTIVE STREET
The consensus was that the front corner on the East side (Milada joining 12th Street) was the most festive, with 8 homes adjoining and lighting up the corner.

Congratulate your neighbors and thank you all for making Dobbins Creek a festive neighborhood!🎄
